Heathrow T5

Type of works: design and manufacture of a carbon steel modular blast walls and doors.

Working closely with local steelwork company Watson Steel Structures, Booth was awarded the design and manufacture of a carbon steel modular blast wall for use against terrorist attack. The wall system is utilised where exposed glazing would be vulnerable, and provides both fire and blast protection to the interchange, the main passenger access point to T5.

The project provided an opportunity for Booth to demonstrate expertise in engineering fire and blast protection systems and high integrity doors used in the offshore market in onerous conditions where performance is critical to the safety of life and facilities.
