Client: Henlow Greyhound Stadium
Type of works: design and installation of a temporary building to be used as a bar and viewing facility.
Henlow Greyhound Stadium is one of the countrys top greyhound tracks providing all the thrills and excitement of racing every Monday, Friday and Saturday night. Henlow contacted Spaciotempo in September 2005 when they required a temporary building to be installed within the stadium. The temporary building was to be used as a bar, dining and viewing facility so that race goers could enjoy entertainment, food, drink and warmth whilst overlooking the track. The timing was critical as the new building, aptly named the Winning Post, was to be fully operational in time for the Christmas party season.
Spaciotempo provided a 15m wide by 25m long temporary building with a 4m eave height. As with all public facilities, Spaciotempo installed their superior insulated roof and wall systems. These sophisticated systems ensure minimal condensation, assist temperature control and eliminate creaks and rattles usually associated with temporary buildings.
Working closely together, Henlow and Spaciotempo pulled in experienced sub-contractors and suppliers to turn the shell into an attractive, comfortable and functional public facility. These extras included vinyl tiles, carpet tiles, rails, platforms, gate and ramp for disabled access, lighting, partitions, ceiling, air-conditioning, doors and glazed windows.
The Winning Post was unveiled to the public on Friday 2nd December 2005 and now, open seven days week, is proving its worth as an ideal venue for events such as corporate functions and musical entertainment evenings.
