Sapphire Balustrades has manufactured and installed bespoke balustrades for Infinity, a spectacular new seafront development in Hampshire by award-winning housebuilder Pennyfarthing Homes. Eight luxury apartments feature internal and external balustrades with stainless steel balustrades in the communal staircase from Sapphire’s Onyx collection, and balconies designed to incorporate Opal polyester powder-coated balusters and ‘mirror’ polished stainless steel handrails. Sapphire’s safe and stylish solutions complement Infinity’s exacting specification and add value to the prestigious development, including two penthouse properties on top of the four-storey building.

Infinity is the second Pennyfarthing Homes project to have Sapphire Balustrades specified. Having worked successfully with Sapphire on another development, Pennyfarthing Homes’ Surveyor, says they were the obvious choice for Infinity: “We just handed the outline design to Sapphire’s team and they did the rest,” she says. “Sapphire provided a professional service from start to completion and the balustrades really enhance the look of these stunning properties.”

The balustrades for Infinity’s communal staircase consist of 50mm tubular balusters from Sapphire’s stainless steel Onyx range with handrails offset from the balusters to provide smooth, continuous support. Infill panels of 10mm clear toughened glass with unique banjo glass lugs complete the staircase balustrade and allow light to flood through the central stairwell.

The 1100mm high Opal balustrades for apartment balconies at Infinity are manufactured using stainless steel tubular balusters coated in an attractive and hard-wearing grey polyester powder-coated finish to complement the building’s facade. The Opal balusters are combined with 50mm stainless steel handrails with a highly polished ‘mirror’ finish designed to offer enhanced rust resistance in this harsh sea front application. The balustrades’ clear toughened glass infill panels create an open aspect to the façade and enable residents to enjoy uninterrupted sea views.
