Housing Units Exported to Sierra Leone

Elements Europe exported 20 of its volumetric housing units to Sierra Leone.

The units which featured two double bedrooms both with en-suite bathrooms, were procured by London Mining for use in Sierra Leone.

The 20 units were transported from Elements Europe’s Telford factory to Ipswich where they were loaded onto a ship and stacked ready for the journey.

The light steel frame units comprise of cold rolled steel C-sections fitted externally with 18mm marine ply wood, a breathable membrane and dark grey cladding with the appearance of rendered spar dash. Internally the walls are lined with fire-line board and prefinished wood.

Each unit is 7m long, 3m high, over 4m wide and contains two rooms. Each room features one double bed and one bathroom.

Kevin Arthur, Sales Director at Elements Europe, says “This type of accommodation is extremely flexible and can be used within a variety of different sectors. It can also be easily transported around the world as we can see from these units”

The volumetric units are weather proof, durable and thermally efficient and do not leave a footprint. They can easily be connected to mains water and electricity and in cases where neither of these are available the units can instead be hooked up to generators and mobile water and waste water units.
