Microban® antibacterial protection is built into all Contour Showers level and easy access shower trays at the point of manufacture to prevent the growth of bacteria, mould and mildew for the useful life of the product.
Bacteria, mould and mildew thrive in damp, humid conditions like bathrooms and shower rooms. In these conditions bacteria can double every 20 minutes and in half a day, 1 bacterium can become 1 million.
Once bacteria come into contact with the Microban® surface, the technology works by disrupting its biological functioning, the lifecycle cannot proceed and the bacteria then die.
Microban® protection is designed to support a regular cleaning routine by working continuously to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mould, because it is ‘built-in’ during manufacture it cannot wash off or wear away. Microban® antibacterial technology supports normal hygiene practice by reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
