Howells invests in new machinery after record year

Howells Patent Glazing based in the West Midlands has invested nearly £50,000 into new machinery following a very successful year, which has marked a record in the company's sales history.

The Black Country based firm has invested in a new double mitre saw, with a price tag of nearly £50,000 which has revolutionised the manufacturing process. The new equipment accompanied with the in house welding facility has cut Howells's production time down massively.

The family run business embrace change and development and are also currently providing several apprenticeships within the company for production and welding. As well as investing in new staff & machinery, Howells has recently revamped their reception and showrooms enabling customers to view the products and see the manufacturing process in action.

Gary Howells, Sales Director, said "Here at Howells we never accept that we should stay still, we are constantly looking for better and more efficient ways of improving our systems for producing our materials, supply chain and customer experience. We have made a massive investment this year into our manufacturing plant with the purchase of the new SW453- reverse Co3 in order for us to streamline and speed up our manufacturing process to enable swifter production of our patented glazing bar system".

The shop floor isn't the only department benefiting from restructure and development, the marketing and admin team have also gained additional team members with another admin member joining the team as well as a new employee who has been taken on full time to operate the new machinery.
