Project details
The newly completed £61 million National Graphene Institute at the University of Manchester is the national centre for Graphene research. This award winning 7,825 square metre, five storey building features cutting-edge facilities including state of the art clean rooms, laser, optical, metrology and chemical labs and equipment. The Government provided £38m for the construction of the institute with the remaining £23m being provided by the European Regional Development Fund. More than 35 companies worldwide have partnered with the university to develop and commercialise this pioneering material.

Project overview
Working alongside Main Contractor Balfour Beatty Engineering Services, GDL manufactured and supplied the internal ventilation grilles and diffusers throughout the various floors of the building. Their products provide both supply and extract ventilation, with accessories and optional paint finishes to suit the clients exact requirements.
