The latest generation of Viega press tools, including the Pressgun 6 Plus and Pressgun Picco 6 Plus, feature advanced smart connectivity functions. The Viega Tool Services Lite app allows users to see full status information, manage the tools more effectively and achieve greater safety and security.
After acquiring one of the new Bluetooth enabled press tools, the user can simply register and connect it to the Viega Tool Services Lite app on their smartphone, or other connected device. The app, which is available for both iOS and Android devices, has an intuitive and user friendly interface, making it easy to see the information and adjust settings.
Full tool status
While Pressgun 6 Plus and Pressgun Picco 6 Plus each have simple and clear LED displays to show the status, the Viega Tool Services Lite app allows access to more detailed information. This includes the current status of the tool, battery level and total number of pressings since the last service.
Pressing mode selection
Every job has different requirements, and these may even vary throughout the project. The Viega Tool Services Lite app allows two different pressing modes to be selected depending on what is needed. Users have the choice of:
- Viega AutoCycle – the default setting, which presses the connectors in one action when the tool is activated.
- Viega SmartCycle - presses the connection in two stages to allow inspection prior to completing the pressing. The press tool automatically stops after initial contact and is then completed with a second press of the button.
Safer and more secure
The new functionality provided by the Viega Tool Services Lite app also includes usage controls. This allows the tool to be manually locked and unlocked using the app to prevent unauthorised use. It also enables automatic limits to be set to deactivate the tool when a number of pressings, date or time is reached.
