Construction Specialties products have been used extensively in a new Childrens Hospital and specialist Head and Neck Centre of John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
C/S timber handrails with stainless-steel, Part M compliant brackets, were fitted in general circulation areas, whilst C/S Acrovyn® HRB20 combined hand/crash rails were installed in corridors, which are more likely to suffer from impact damage caused by hospital equipment.
C/S Acrovyn® corner guards where also fitted throughout the facility to provide impact protection to vulnerable corners. In the wards, C/S Supertrak® cubicle curtain track was used along C/S Acrovyn® vertical bed locators, which are protecting overhead equipment and facilities from impact damage.
C/S Pediluxe® entrance matting, comprising 17mm deep aluminium profiles with textile inserts, was chosen for hospital entrances. C/S Allway® expansion joint covers, which are designed to accommodate buildings movement, were also supplied and installed in the facility.
Hygienic coating systems from the C/S Wallglaze® range were applied to walls and ceilings in the hospitals operating theatres and sterile areas. These biostatic and highly durable coatings, when used with an approved cleaning regime, will provide excellent resistance against many bacteria, including MRSA.
