Kaba automatic sliding doors provide a warm welcome at Swindon Hotel

Leading door manufacturer and supplier Kaba Door Systems has provided automatic sliding doors at The Blunsdon House Hotel, Swindon.

Working directly with the hotel, Kaba provided two automatic sliding door systems, replacing the existing main entrance doors.

The doors were required to give an impressive welcome, providing reliable, safe, contact-free access for hotel customers and to fully comply with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) directives. Kaba installed two of the technologically advanced SLX/PSX automatic bi-parting door systems. Arranged in succession, the outer door closes before the second set opens aiding climate control within the main reception area. The opening cycles also activate the signs positioned above the doors. As visitors enter, a welcome sign is displayed, the opening cycle on the inner door showing please call again as visitors leave. The doors also feature the Kaba PSX slimline profile door wings creating an elegant entrance.

Steve Day, Facilities Manager said: “These doors are a huge asset to the hotel, not only do they aid easy entry and exit due to the doors not having to be physically opened, they also enable heat conservation in an area that can now be used for guests to relax and enjoy coffee after dinner without suffering any draughts.”

The Kaba SLX sliding door system uses CANbus technology to ensure safe reliable contact-free access. The CANbus, unique to the SLX drive unit, continually checks all door safety devices. If a problem is detected the CANbus will immediately detail the error and ensure that the door is not used in automatic mode making the doors extremely safe. The SLX also uses Blue Tooth technology to enable programming via Kaba’s new key ring sized F-Key, the Kaba BEDIX control unit or from devices such as mobile phones and PDA’s.
