Client: Kerrygold
Contractor: Hemsec Installations
Type of works: design, manufacture and supply of Rockspan external composite wall panels and Firemaster internal wall and ceiling solution.

A new Kerrygold cheese-packing facility in Leek, Staffordshire is benefiting from the industry-leading quality of Eurobond’s non-combustible, stone-wool cored composite panel system. Eurobond’s external wall panel Rockspan and total internal wall and ceiling solution Firemaster panel systems have been used extensively in the construction of the new 15,000m2, £30-million factory to fire the highest level of fire resistance.

Firemaster’s qualities make it the perfect specification for internal cladding. With a proven history in the food storage and processing sector, the total internal wall and ceiling panel solution enables compartmentalization throughout the building. The panel’s stone wool non-combustible core helps develop the building into protective zones that can help retain the spread of flames in the event of a fire.

In addition, Firemaster can be specified with a food safe, antibacterial coating that guarantees adherence to the strict hygiene standard required within a food-processing environment.

Rockspan is the ultimate reliable composite panel, offering superb structural integrity thanks to its engineered stone-wool core. The panel can achieve single spans in excess of 6m, dramatically reducing the need for secondary steel works and maximizing useable internal spaces.

Both Rockspan and Firemaster offer first class performance. Each panel system is tested and approved where appropriate to LSP 1181 Grade A, LPS 1208, and BS art 22, EN 1364 Part 1 along with FM Global standard FM4880, ensuring the customer of the highest fire performance throughout.

Chris Cartwright, Project Manager, Hemsec Installationssaid: “We’ve worked with Eurobond for several years and their level of service excellent. The quality of the panels supplied is consistent with timely manufacture and delivery. The simple and rapid installation of both system, with their interlocking joint meant that we were able to install 10,000m2 in just under two months with minimal labour.”
