It is one thing to make claims about your business performance in the challenging area of sustainability, it is quite another to substantiate those claims, but that is what Kingspan Insulated Panels achieves with its fourth Sustainability Report, now available to download from: www.kingspanpanels.com/Resource_Centre/Literature/Download/Sustainability.aspx.
The 2009/2010 report complies with the GRI reporting framework to level C, and covers the Kingspan Insulated Panels division Head Office and manufacturing site in Holywell, its insulated panel manufacturing sites at Sherburn, Kingscourt in Ireland and Sydney, Australia.
It also covers Kingspans door components business in Belgium and the insulated panel sales offices in New Zealand, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Singapore and Dubai.
Gilbert McCarthy, Divisional Managing Director of Kingspan Insulated Panels said: "At Kingspan Insulated Panels we are genuinely striving to appreciate the true meaning of the word Sustainability. This report illustrates some of Kinsgpans successes in the area of sustainability and, equally importantly, outlines the areas in which we intend to improve.
"Our overarching aim is to get as close to zero-carbon as is possible at our largest production facility in Holywell, with the long-term goal of rolling that target out across our entire division."
Notable achievements in the UK include: exceeding a 20% waste to landfill reduction target; being listed by the Sunday Times as one of the UKs 60 top green companies in both 2009 and 2010, finishing first in Wales in both years; achieving the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA) Gold award in 2009 and 2010; achieving A+ ratings for the Architectural Wall Panel and Trapezoidal Roof and Wall product ranges under the latest Green Guide to Specification; investment in the local community through the regeneration of Greenfield Dock; continued investment in research and product development.
