Kingspan Wall-Lite, The Clear Choice

Worcester Rugby Club is the latest project to benefit from Kingspan Wall-Lite, a translucent wall panel that allows natural daylight into buildings, whilst maintaining thermal efficiency and aesthetic appearance.

The £8 million Slick Systems Stand is the focal point of the Sixways Stadium and has become one of the iconic images on arrival to Worcester from the M5.

Tony Davies of Slick Systems said “We specified the clear Kingspan Wall-Lite as we needed a cost effective translucent product that transmitted daylight but diffused the heat and glare from the sun.”

Central Cladding Systems of Cheltenham installed Kingspan Wall-Lite to the gable end of the spectator seating area in the grandstand.

Suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications on most types of buildings Kingspan Wall-Lite is a single-component system that does not require glazing experience to fit, thereby reducing installation time and the need to rely on skilled sub-contractors.

Kingspan Wall-Lite comes in a range of colours and lengths from 1.8m to 8m, is UV-resistant, lightweight and offers a U-value of 1.26 W/m²K. The system need not restrict design options as it can be fully integrated with Kingspan’s entire range of architectural wall panels and complete wall and facade systems and is covered by the Kingspan Total Guarantee, offering thermal and structural performance guarantee.

Kingspan KS1000 RW Trapezoidal System in White, Goosewing Grey and Merlin Grey Kingspan XL Forté coloured panels along with KS1000 MR Micro-Rib architectural wall panel systems in Sapphire Blue Kingspan XL Forté and Kingspan Spectrum Silver coloured panels were also installed during this project. Both systems have an ECOsafe insulation core, containing no CFC’s or HCFC’s with a low Global Warming Potential, achieving an A+ grade according to the Green Guide to Specification to help buildings attain a high BREEAM rating. They are also available in FIREsafe LPCB insurer-approved form for assured fire performance and are fibre-free, removing the risk of loose fibres being released and causing irritation.
