Type of works: supply and installation of Flowfresh SR hygienic polyurethane resin flooring system.
Over 500m2 of Flowcretes specialist resin flooring products have been installed at KP Nuts manufacturing facility based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
The KP Nuts brand, which is owned by the United Biscuits group, forms a large part of KP Snacks a leading British provider of nuts, crisps, chips and other savoury snack products.
Flowcretes hygienic polyurethane resin flooring system, Flowfresh SR, was chosen as the final finish for refurbishment works at the site. Delivering a seamless finish, Flowfresh removes the cracks and joints associated with tiles and other traditional flooring products so as to prevent the build-up of dust, dirt and bacteria.
In addition, a powerful silver ion based antimicrobial, Polygiene® that destroys harmful bugs such as E-coli, Salmonella, SARS, MRSA and C.difficile, is built in to the resin matrix of the product to destroy the bacterial population on the surface of the floor.
Flowfresh SR was installed over a 180m2 area at a thickness of 9mm and included a natural quartz scatter to deliver a slip-resistant finish before finally being sealed.
Work at the Rotherham site also included the application of Flowcretes damp-proof membrane, Hydraseal DPM, to treat a localised area of the floor by creating a water-tight moisture barrier where a new drainage system had been installed prior to the laying of the Flowfresh.
