KSB acquires Pump Manufacturer Smedegaard.

On the 16th February 2012, KSB acquired an eighty percent share in Copenhagen-based T.Smedegaard A/S.

The company, established in 1942 and with a workforce of around 80, manufactures circulating pumps used in heating systems, booster sets and pressurisation units.

“The acquisition aims at securing our building services project business in the areas of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning,” Dr Wolfgang Schmitt, Chairman of the Board of Management explained.

Eighteen Months on and the acquisition has given KSB access to a wider scope of technology in the building services sector.

In the UK, KSB Ltd and Smedegaard Ltd are jointly developing an approach which seeks to offer customers the opportunity to purchase KSB and Smedegaard branded products through each companies sales channels.

KSB Ltd Managing Director, Dale Croker, feels this is very important for the Groups continued growth. ‘‘We have been working closely with Smedegaard Ltd and their excellent team on the reciprocal transfer of product and application knowledge. We see great opportunities for both companies to strengthen the product offering and support we are able to offer our customers”

Together, KSB Ltd and Smedegaard Ltd will continue to deepen their connections to offer full product line and application support to their customers.
