Type of works: supply of Flowcrete's Isocrete K-Screed floorcovering, providing a solid platform underfoot.
Flowcretes time-proven Isocrete K-Screed has delivered a solid platform underfoot at Larnaca International Airports state-of-the-art new terminal.
The fast-drying, levelling screed has been installed at the ultra-modern new terminal building, designed to handle up to 7.5 million passengers a year with provision to extend to nearly 10 million users when the need arises.
More than 40,000sqm of Isocrete K-Screed have been used within the new development, installed across a dual level facility housing both Departures and Arrivals.
Curing up to four times faster than traditional sand and cement based screeds, Isocrete K-Screed cuts installation times and allows follow-on trades to get quickly onto site.
UK flooring contractor Advance Screeding and Nicosia-based Charilaos Apostolides Public Ltd carried out the installation.
Tony Gear, Flowcretes Export Director, said: This is a showpiece terminal building for Cyprus and we are very proud to have been chosen to work on the project.
Since its launch around 40 years ago, Isocrete K-Screed has been specified by architects for installation at international airports around the world.
The systems unique qualities deliver considerable advantages, both at the construction stage and when a building is in day-to-day use.
The new Larnaca International hub was designed by Pascall+Watson Architects and built by Bouygues Bātiment International.
Features of the complex, operated by Hermes Airports Ltd, include 67 check-in counters, 16 air bridges, VIP and business lounges and parking for 2,650 visitors.
