Leak detection system for residential development

Leak detection system for residential development

A 45 Zone Thermodetect Leak Detection System from Thermogroup UK has been installed in large residential development. The product will be used as an early warning system for any leaks that could occur under sinks, dishwashers, shower trays, baths, toilets, water tanks and more throughout the properties.

Thermodetect was selected because of it's ability to protect a large surface area when compared to spot detectors. The Thermodetect leak detection cable incorporates a slot along it's entire length that 'wicks' liquid in and sounds the alarm. Thermodetect is also compatible with the remote notification and building management systems already specified in the project.

Another reason for the inclusion of Thermodetect Leak Detection was the availability of BREEAM points for the environmental impact of the product. Leak detection systems help to prevent leaks going un-noticed and minimise waste water leaking from basement pipes or other inconspicuous areas. BREEAM credit points are awarded when evidence is provided to show that leak detection systems have been specified or installed on the project.
