Leisure Centre Sports New Altro Surfaces

Altro Mondoflex has been installed at Carn Brea Leisure Centre in Redruth to create the largest sports floor in the South West. Altro Marine flooring and Altro Whiterock wall cladding has also been used to create a complete wet room system in the changing rooms.

Alongside the gym refurbishment, Sally Newton, building surveyor at Cornwall Council, specified Altro Whiterock walling and Marine flooring for the leisure centre’s changing areas to create a complete wet room system. “I know from experience that these Altro surfaces are an ideal solution,” she said. “The combination of Whiterock and Marine creates a slip resistant and hard wearing finish that is easy to clean and hygienic. The finished result looks great too.”

Altro Marine is a carefully textured 2mm thick safety floor specifically designed for use with wet, bare feet or soft-soled footwear. Incorporating a bacteriostat for enhanced hygiene, it is ideal for recreational wet areas, as well as associated changing rooms.

Altro Whiterock is a cost-effective wall cladding that is easy to clean, impact resistant and virtually maintenance free, making it ideal for washroom and kitchen environments. Extruded from a high quality, food safe PVCu polymer, it meets all current EU Directives on health and hygiene.
