Liverpool Library chooses Gradus wall protection systems

Liverpool Library chooses Gradus wall protection systems

Liverpool’s Central Library reopened in May following a two-year refurbishment project that saw the existing Brown Library and its extension demolished and a new five-story library built in its place.

Gradus’ 1300 and 1400 wall guards, and vertical surface mount corner guards, all in Dolphin (light grey) were installed in the back rooms of the library, as well as one of the main corridors.

The wall and corner guards were installed to protect the surfaces from damage caused by trolleys and help to reduce maintenance costs by absorbing impact and deflecting moving trolleys in areas that are subject to heavier trolley and pedestrian traffic.

When specified correctly barrier matting can reduce the amount of dirt and moisture carried into a building by up to 90%, thus helping to reduce the risk of slip accidents that are caused by wet flooring, protect the appearance and prolong the lifecycle of adjacent floorcoverings and reduce cleaning and maintenance costs. Gradus’ Topguard primary barrier matting is suitable for the most demanding applications where the removal of harsher levels of dirt and moisture is required.
