Type of works: installation of Redland Grovebury tiles to 359 new homes.
Redland Grovebury tiles were used for roofing the first of 359 new homes within Southern Housing Group’s £40 million regeneration of the Market Estate by Higgins Construction in the London Borough of Islington. They were installed by Chris Turner of Walthamstow-based contractor Courts.
The housing for both affordable shared-ownership and rent is designed by HTA Architects to integrate 10 retail units based upon a masterplan by Watkins Gray International, following staged demolitions of the 45-year-old Market Estate around a neighbouring park’s elaborate 47m high listed Victorian clock tower.
