Classroom based (Duration – 1 hr 30 mins)
The Masonry Cleaning presentation will be in two parts;
Part 1: The first part is to provide a detailed summary of the principal cleaning and paint removal techniques available for interior and exterior work. Particular reference is made to British Standard 8221(2012) and other published reference sources.
Part 2: This part covers case studies and examples. The substrates described include natural stone, brick, faience, stucco, and concrete of public, domestic, commercial, ecclesiastical buildings and monuments.
Practical (Duration – 1 hr 15 mins)
A demonstration and introduction to a variety of cleaning and coating removal techniques, including an opportunity for individuals to try methods if requested.
