Matchplay surfacing for Wheelers Lane Primary School

Matchplay surfacing for Wheelers Lane Primary School

Wheelers Lane Primary School in Birmingham previously had a hard playing surfacing which was proving to cause a number of minor injuries and scrapes to the students. It was in need of improvement and Playrite were able to help.

Playrite looked at what usage the client was requiring and what range of sports the area will be used for. Wheelers Lane Primary School wanted a variety of activities to be available to the students including, football, Netball, Basketball and just general PE and Fitness.

Playrite’s Matchplay 2 surface was chosen, primarily because it lends itself heavily for use in a wide range of sports without affecting overall performance. The School came to the decision that Matchplay 2 was the surface they needed to boost their curriculum.

The school now has two areas divided for dual use simultaneously. Matchplay 2 finished these off perfectly and not only lowered the number of scrapes and injuries dramatically, it made lessons and time spent outside much more enjoyable for the students.
