Type of works: installation of Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers at Town & Country Inns' new venue. Town & Country Inns operates a national network of bars and restaurants, including the Mechu and Après brands. Each venue holds between 300 and 1,000 people.

In the licensed retail trade, managing operating costs and offering a real point of difference is vital to success. With this in mind, Town & Country Inns were keen to invest in distinctive, cost-saving products as it embarked on an ambitious expansion strategy. This included finding an effective alternative to conventional energy-hungry, hot-air hand dryers and paper towels.

The Inn’s new venue, Mechu, provided an ideal opportunity to assess an alternative hand drying method. Impressed with its speed, energy-efficiency and overall design, the company decided to install six Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers.

The response from customers and staff has been very positive. “At first, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers received some strange looks from staff and customers because they looked so different from other hand dryers,” says Keith Williams, Managing Director of Town & Country Inns. “But everyone quickly warmed to them. Now everyone loves them. They are very different and their stylish design makes them immediately stand out.”

Town and Country Inns estimate that the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers will deliver cost benefits of approximately £6,000 per year on paper towels alone. The Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers will now be installed in all new venues and refurbishments across the Town & Country Inns network.
