DLG Architects of London specified Sapphire Balustrades to supply and fit balustrades in Bath’s shopping mall. The project involved building a covered shopping mall to incorporate existing buildings in the centre of Bath, one of the most architecturally sensitive cities in the UK, so it was important to find suppliers who could meet the exact requirements of the designer.

The project, Milsom Place in Bath, used Sapphire’s Crystal Balustrade with a variety of handrails to suit each installation – some timber, some stainless steel and some with integral LED lighting. Some of Sapphire’s competitors refused to even quote for the job, as the technical specifications were too demanding. But Sapphire relishes a challenge, and supplied 150 metres of balustrade. Each installation met the specification and successfully combined modern innovation with historical character.
