Mind the Gap!

28 Jan 2011

Gaps between partial-fill cavity insulation and reveal closers means an opening is not insulated in accordance with the Building Regulations.

A recent survey of sites has highlighted that this is a common occurrence where both first-fix and second-fix closers and adjacent partial-fill insulation are supposed to come together.

And in the event of a complaint, the cost of rectifying a poorly performing opening once the structure has been built, can be considerable.

The Continuity Closer is different.

The Continuity Closer goes where other closers do not; extending across the edge and face of the cavity insulation and covering the gap. Without the interruption of visible gaps, the structure is more thermally efficient.

The Continuity Closer may be used as a first- or second-fix closer and can cost no more than an ordinary closer.

It is manufactured by Cavity Trays of Yeovil.

The Continuity Closer – makes building better, easier.
