Mumford & Wood launch new Balcony Doorsets

Mumford & Wood launch new Balcony Doorsets

Mumford & Wood, specialist manufacturer of the finest timber windows and doors, has introduced timber balcony doorsets to the award-winning Conservation™ range of period-style sash and casement windows, French doorsets, bi-folding and entrance doors.

Balcony doorsets are most commonly used in a Juliet balcony arrangement and are a modified version of a standard French doorset. The dimensions of the vertical stiles are particularly narrow by comparison to maximise the glass area in what is usually a very narrow doorset. The design and construction achieves an authentic replica of a single glazed original doorset in which the integrity of the elevation is completely maintained.

Available in an open-in or open-out configuration, Mumford & Wood’s Conservation™ balcony doorsets have espagnolette locking and are available with the extensive range of profile and bar options to suite with all products in the range. Tom Barfield, sales director, Mumford & Wood, said "In a genuine period property each door could typically be as narrow as 900mm wide, so it’s very important that timber sections are kept to a minimum, especially across the meeting stiles. They tend to open inwards and very often are below a fixed or openable fanlight. You’ll most often see them on the first floor of front elevations in large Georgian and Victorian terraces and villas.”
