New CF High Friction Clamp
Bradford, UK, June 8, 2006 --- Today, Lindapter is launching a new generation of 'hook-over' clamp for connecting rolled steel sections, which expands the applications potential to frictional loads. The Type CF clamp can securely connect channel, angle and I-beam secondary steelwork without drilling or welding - dramatically reducing construction time and costs.
Lindapter has pioneered time-saving, angle-to-angle steelwork fixings. The new Type CF design features a patented toothed nose design and reaction legs which deliver a high friction connection. The new clamp is also manufactured from higher specification material than the previous generation. Using a grade 8.8 bolt, and spheroidal graphite cast iron hook, substantially increases the maximum loading and applications potential.
'Angle-to-angle fixings have revolutionised steelwork construction practices for many organisations, saving costs and eliminating safety issues associated with on-site drilling and welding', says Lindapter's Mick Knight. 'With this new generation design, Lindapter is providing a truly universal solution that we believe will become an industry standard for secondary steelwork'.
Type CF clamps come in M12, 16 or 20 sizes, which accommodate tensile loads up to 26.25 kN (for a single bolt, 5:1 factor of safety) and frictional loads up to 16 kN (two bolts, 5:1 FOS). The clamps may be fitted without drilling or welding - with a hook at either end - or with pre-fabricated punched/drilled mounting plates. The clamps are hot-dip galvanised, and do not damage steelwork coatings.
Applications for the Type CF clamp are extremely diverse and may be found in all secondary steelwork construction, such as access platforms, telecommunications towers, walkways and fire escapes, pipe supports, conveyors, cranes and lifting equipment, bridge construction, and in overhead line equipment for railways.
