New Flaplock FL05 Secures SBD Licence

Flaplock FL05 is a sturdier version of the Safety Letterbox Company’s standard lockable letterflap that now holds a Secured by Design licence – the official UK police approval for security products. As an effective security solution to address criminal methods of attack, it is specified in Section 21 of SBD New Homes 2010 – a guidance document published by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).

Both Flaplock products effectively protect premises from attack, access or any unwanted items being posted, through the letterbox.

Robustly constructed from steel up to 3mm thick, Flaplock FLO5 is mounted on the inside of an external door using four dome-headed bolts which travel through the door. It is locked by steel pegs which, if forced, cause the mechanism to become more positive.

Fitted quickly and easily onto any existing property, it is a practical, affordable and Police Preferred Specification security solution in the battle against intrusion. It provides instant peace of mind; securing occupied, empty or vulnerable buildings from attack via the letterbox.

Supplied with full fitting instructions, Flaplock FL05 also carries LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) certification 1175 Issue 6, Security Level 1. It can be left locked or unlocked to suit. When locked at all times, an individual mailbox such as a Eurobox can be fixed to an external wall to receive mail delivery.
