Mumford & Wood, the Essex-based manufacturer of Britain’s finest timber windows and doors, welcomes Frank Buckley as managing director who will be working alongside Mike Harris, current long serving managing director. Mr Buckley joins Mumford & Wood with an extensive experience in the building materials’ industry having worked for Marley Eternit as Manufacturing Manager with secondments in the US and Italy, British Gypsum as Manufacturing Manager and Anglian Home Improvements as Plant Director.
Frank sees exciting times ahead for Mumford & Wood. “I see my responsibility as building on the company’s renowned reputation for producing very fine timber windows and doors and continuing a proud heritage that spans over 60 years,” says Frank. The company’s recent investment of almost £1.3m in state-of-the-art, computer controlled plant and machinery, has enabled the manufacturing processes of the more labour intensive tasks to free up skilled craftsmen and women to work on more specialist production, such as bay windows and curved heads, that require specialist hand finishing.
“I am looking forward to working with the entire team to deliver the vision of matching craftsmanship with innovation and technology to expand our business,” says Frank who will be spending a great deal of time with his fellow directors, sales and commercial teams, getting to know the company’s customers, their needs and aspirations.
