The new metals line from Reynobond® combines the beauty of real metal with the ease of use of a composite panel. The new façade panels have a natural sheen and the unique properties of aluminium, copper, stainless steel or zinc. Compared to full metals, however, they can be used in a wider range of applications, and can be used in a host of building types for a classic to sophisticated effect.
The Weimar-based architects Junk & Reich rose to the challenge of dressing historic architecture in modern garbs when they restored the library of the Augustine Monastery in Erfurt. What makes the building stand out are its roof, made of natural zinc, and the steel-glass construction for the windows. There is, however, another contemporary product hidden on the apparently traditional zinc roof: Reynobond® Zinc, a composite panel, consisting of two pre-weathered zinc sheets and a fire-resistant core (FR).
Reynobond® Zinc is one of a total of eleven new composite panels from the metals line from Reynobond® Architecture. The panels are made of real metals, such as stainless steel, copper, zinc or aluminium, but are lighter, more resistant and easier to work with than a full metal panel. The wide range of technical fixing options allows façade designs with various shapes and effects to be created. Reynobond® Metals allows you to create curves, angles and other design elements that cannot be achieved with heavy materials. The metals line is divided into two sub-groups Aluminium Natural and Natural Metals. Aluminium Natural is composed of four pure aluminium surfaces with various brushed structures, and is available in various patina shades.
The natural effects of stainless steel or pre-weathered zinc can be seen in the surfaces of Natural Metals. Here, the fire resistant core is coated on both sides with real zinc, copper, aluminium or stainless steel. The stainless steel surfaces are available in both a smooth and brushed finish. Reynobond® Zinc is available in pre-weathered Quartz-Zinc and Anthra-Zinc. And a special feature: The zinc composite panels can be supplied on request with Quartz-Zinc on the front and Anthra-Zinc on the back.
