New modular stainless-steel drainage system from ACO cuts build time and costs

ACO Building Drainage, the leading European developer and manufacturer of advanced drainage technology, has launched a new and innovative range of modular stainless-steel drainage systems, designed to cut both build time and costs. Called the Modular 125, the new system is available from stock in a wide choice of standard modules, enabling quick and simple installation in all applications where high standards of hygiene or resistance to aggressive liquids and solvents is required.

The Modular 125 drainage system is manufactured from austenitic 304 grade stainless steel, fully pickle passivated to ensure a tough, long lasting corrosion resistant finish. Just as importantly, the Modular 125 is the only system of its type to be fully tested and approved to the BS EN 1433 standard for linear drainage channels for collecting and removing surface water in areas with pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

The lightweight modular design of the 125 system enables both simple and complex drainage networks to be built into concrete, tiled, and epoxy resin and vinyl sheeted floors, without the need for onsite fabrication. The choice of modules includes: straight, corner and branch channel sections, in standard lengths between 500 and 3,000mm, and with a variety of outlet and gully options.

Modules are designed to be quick and easy to interconnect, with V-bottomed profiled channel sections being supplied in either constant depth invert or sloping inverts, which allows positive drainage particularly in low flow conditions. Channel runs of up to 30m can be constructed with a continuous sloping invert, or extended lengths using convenient combinations of level and sloping invert channel sections. The low-profile channel joint plate design requires minimum trench excavation, which is particularly useful for shallow slab installations. The joint seal has been tested to BS EN 1433 and is fully liquid tight.

ACO also offers a choice of 13 grating designs all load tested to BS EN 1433 load classes A15 to C250. Further options include construction from 316 grade stainless steel, for use in particularly aggressive chemical applications, plus a wide choice of modular gullies, foul air traps, sieves and baskets.

Functional and practical grating designs offer a range of features including enhanced slip resistance properties and improved liquid interception performance together with attractive aesthetic appeal and can be supplied with security locks.
