New Products at Ecobuild - Wilo Focuses on High Efficiency

Leading pump manufacturer Wilo unveiled some exciting new products on its stand at EcoBuild. With the focus being very much on high efficiency pumps and pumping systems, Wilo will be showing visitors its wide range of pumps that already meet the requirements of the EU ErP Directive that lays down stipulations with high efficiency target dates of 2013, 2015 and 2020 that many of its products already meet with ease.

Along with the full range of energy efficient small circulators in its product portfolio, the already highly popular Wilo Stratos-PICO – the most energy efficient small pump you can buy - was on display on the Wilo stand, offering up to 90% energy savings over a standard pump. It’s an ‘A’ rated small circulator with a five year ‘A label warranty’. These pumps put Wilo in a strong position with the imminent arrival of new regulations relating to energy efficient small pumps from Europe, that will outlaw conventional, standard pumps across Europe from 2013 in stand alone installations.

In addition Wilo showed EcoBuild visitors its range of commercial Wilo-Stratos pumps. The Stratos range has been extended by adding seven models for connections ranging from DN25 to DN50. The Wilo-Stratos series offers power-saving, high-efficiency pumping with a range of control options and interfaces to building automation systems, but can also be used for smaller performance ranges, up to a delivery head of 4 m. They are ideal for smaller heating and cooling circuits in commercial buildings. This latest range extension allows for easier replacement of old, uncontrolled pumps by new generation, high-efficiency pumps.

Supplied with an IF-Module, all Wilo-Stratos pumps are suitable for integration into building automation systems. Pumps can be made bus-capable in line with today’s standards - LON, CAN, BACnet or Modbus. In addition, these high-efficiency pumps have an infrared interface for pump monitoring. This interface enables wireless reading of all relevant pump data over several metres distance to the pump, through the use of a Wilo-IR-Monitor remote enquiry device, or a Wilo-IR-Module for pocket PCs. The Wilo-Stratos high-efficiency series offers a power saving potential of 80% compared to uncontrolled pumps and has been the reference standard for Class A energy efficiency heating pumps since 2001.

And finally, Wilo highlighted its sector leading rainwater harvesting systems at EcoBuild. Wilo brings a range of rainwater harvesting options to the sector through an established understanding of the issues combined with an offer that brings a number of pre-developed solutions that can slot happily into the rainwater harvesting needs of UK contractors, developers and homeowners alike.
