New Timberex products

New Timberex products

We have worked closely with Timberex to develop a new range of wood finishes for both floors and wood products which includes toys, doors, including any kind of wooden joinery.

These products are not available on the open market yet but you can reserve your orders to be the first to get them in 1 litre and 5 litre tubs. Please call for more information and updates on production. All technical literature is in the process of being finalised and printed once all the final testing is complete. This includes abrasion tests, anti-slip testing and final cinal confirmation of full hardening times.

The traditional oils and waxes will remain, what the new products give us is a huge variety of optional finishes with limited downtime on site and a huge range of colour options.

Below is a brief description of each type of product and what they do including drying times and on site downtime.

All these stains and finishes are suitable for Commercial and Domestic applications with easy maintenance and repair options.

UV Curing and Lacquer for onsite or online finishing
These are 100% solids, UV curable, non-penetrating coatings which provide a satin-mat finish. The surface is touch dry immediately after curing, allowing for immediate stacking when finishing online at the factory. These finishes offer superior wear and stain resistance which means they are ideal for interior use in commercial and domestic situations on both wood and bamboo

Water Based UV
• UV Lacquer Base Coat: this is an effective primer for long term protection of the wood
• UV Lacquer Top Coat: a heavy duty lacquer with variable gloss finish and suitable for both commercial and domestic installations
• UV Lacquer Top Coat Anti Slip: a finish with anti-slip additives effectively reducing the risk of slipping whilst offering long term protect
• UV Lacquer Anti Bacteria: a durable finish with anti-bacterial additives for long term protection against harmful bacteria

Oil Based UV
• UV OIL base coat: a primer for all types of wood including bamboo
• UV OIL top coat: combines the advantage of a UV curing system with the look and feel of an oiled surface but with better protection
• UV OIL anti-slip top coat: same wear and tear protection and stain resistance with an anti-slip additive for extra safety
• UV OIL anti-bacteria top coat: anti-bacterial additives actively fights harmful bacteria without compromising the visual ambience of natural or staining and protection of the wood

Active Stains
These remove the tannins ion the wood and our Grey active stain is perfect to create a driftwood colour oak floor. You apply the active stain and then let it dry for 24 hours after which you can apply any finish including colour oils or the PU wood finish below.

Water Based Stains and Oils
These are perfect to get a depth of colour and it is possible to create up to 256 different colour variations. You just have to mix the colours, apply to the wood and let dry for 24 hours and then apply a top coat. The top coat applied can also add to the colour and hue of the floor and you can apply wax oils or UV lacquers. Therefore with these stains you can create a matt, satin to high gloss finish

• Invisible Natural Timber Finish: apply two coats, this leaves the wood looking as if it was unfinished no further treatment is necessary

• Natural Timber Finish: apply two coats, this leaves the wood looking as if it was natural with minimal colour change and no further treatment is necessary

The water based stain colours available are as follows which includes the “primary Colours” you just need to apply one coast and then a finish
• White
• Black
• Red
• Blue
• Yellow

PU based finishes
These are a polymer based wood protector with a flexible finish. The Chemists have used the latest technology to create this range which is unique in the market and offers the perfect solution for onsite application. Two coats are applied with 20 minutes between each coat. You must “patina” the first coat after it is dry to “de nib” the surface as when it penetrates the raw wood is lifts the grain a little. After which the finish will cure within two hours and is fully hardened for use after 24 hours. This means that floors in commercial premises can be sanded back and the finish applied ready to be opened on Monday if all the work is done on a Sunday. In these difficult economic times this product is a must for every commercial contractor who needs to re-finish floors or apply a finish on site.

The other very important benefit of this product is that the PU finish is a “colour” finish so there is no stain below and it has a silky satin finish.

• Invisible Natural Timber Finish: apply two coats, this leaves the wood looking as if it was unfinished no further treatment is necessary

• Natural Timber Finish: apply two coats, this leaves the wood looking as if it was natural with minimal colour change and no further treatment is necessary
