Formica^® Bespoke laminate has been used in the new secondary and special educational needs schools, Newfield and Talbot, Sheffield. The Formica Bespoke team worked closely with Leaderflush Shapland, providers of flush performance doors, to create bespoke designs and solid colour High Pressure Laminate (HPL) door facings to coordinate with the surrounding interior.

The new learning facilities include recording, dance and drama studios, a gym and fitness suite and a ‘Global Conference Centre’. Each subject area in the school has been defined with a bespoke graphic representative of that area, for example a music note design on the doors to the main hall and a paintbrush design for the art rooms. The bold graphics and bright colours used create a bright and welcoming surrounding and the designs allow pupils to navigate around the school with ease.

The Newfield School, designed by HLM Architects, accommodates 1050 secondary school pupils and Talbot is an innovative, specialist school for young people with complex learning difficulties. Built by Taylor Woodrow, working with HLM Architects, the school incorporates the latest in technology, from cashless catering to automatic lights which minimise power usage.

The Formica Bespoke laminate service has a dedicated team offering product support and in depth knowledge of HPL. The service can facilitate virtually limitless, unique designs encapsulated on HPL, allowing the designer to create a unique pattern or design, capture a photograph or reproduce a corporate logo.
