A range of Reynaers products have played a significant part in creating the striking façade of the Novotel London Paddington, a glittering new addition to Development Securities’ Paddington Central business park.

The four-star New Generation Accor hotel has been designed by architects, Dexter Moren Associates, to stand out from its neighbours and is clad in copper based brass and gold shingles. With a location which makes it ideal for both the business and leisure market, facilities include conference and meeting spaces, pool, sauna and fitness room as well as a bar and restaurant area which open out onto a landscaped square. A tower of 206 rooms includes three penthouse suites which have been positioned to take advantage of superb views to the west.

Throughout the development a variety of Reynaers products were used by fabricators, Clapton Glass. These included Reynaers CS68 doors, CS77 windows, CW50 curtain walling and Eco System windows.

Main contractors on the project were Ardmore Construction and a key feature in the hotel’s development was the construction of a new, high level structural deck to facilitate the ‘Crossrail’ scheme to run beneath the site.

Overall the building achieves the equivalent of an excellent BREEAM rating and bespoke BRE testing has rated the façade A+. The building will gain 19% of its energy from a geothermal central borehole.
