Olympic Village, Beijing, China

Client: Beijing Olympic Committee
Type of works: Supply of 11,000 hardware components for aluminium windows, 5,000 parts for the lift-and-slide range and 5,000 AEROMAT 80 ventilators for the Olympic Village in Beijing.

As athletes from all around the world get ready to win gold, silver or bronze at the start of next summer’s 29th Olympics in Beijing, SIEGENIA-AUBI is preparing to be right up there with them.

A global leader in the production of hardware, ventilation and building technology, SIEGENIA-AUBI is supplying 11,000 hardware components for aluminium windows, 5,000 parts for the lift and slide range as well as its 5,000 AEROMAT 80 ventilators, all for the athletes' accommodation in the Olympic Village.

4,000 revolving door locks are also being made by KFV, a subsidiary of SIEGENIA-AUBI. SIEGENIA-AUBI is also providing hardware components for a total of 5,000 aluminimum skylight windows for the press centre. The total value of the project is 1.4million Euros.

With the biggest project so far in China, SIEGENIA-AUBI can increase its leading position in the market and its reputation as an international company with high quality products. All windows and doors are being built to the European design; an unusual step in China as the large majority of windows are either sliding or outward opening.

The hardware is delivered to four window fabricators on the outskirts of Peking, which are being assembled under the expert guidance of SIEGENIA-AUBI employees.

There is already huge interest amongst the Chinese population in this prestigous project for the Guoao real estate group, made up of five large building firms. This means the future of the athletes' Village is also secure. After the closing celebrations on 24 August, the 42 houses and 1,800 apartments will be made available as luxury apartments.
