On board with Cembrit

Cembonit cladding from Cembrit is a strong and adaptable product range which is ideal for builders and contractors looking for a tough board, designed to withstand the wide variations of weather we are familiar with from the UK climate. It can be used for rain screen cladding and weatherboarding, and is popular as it is through coloured, which is especially important where impact damage may be an issue. Proving its versatility and durability, it was recently used as flooring in a major retail outlet

"Cembonit is hugely popular cladding for Cembrit due to its adaptability and dirt resistant characterists” says Ged Ferris, Marketing Manager at Cembrit. “It is unusual for a cladding to be used as a floor covering, but the recent project demonstrates that with a little imagination and the right features, designers can achieve fascinating building solutions.”

Cembonit is produced from cement, sand, cellulose, wollastonite and sodium silicate and is impregnated with an aqueous, hydrophobic liquid, to provide the sheets with a water and dirt repellent surface. It is a strong, yet lightweight product. Being attractive, cost-effective maintenance-free and Class 0 fire-rated, makes Cembonit ideal for a variety of decorative cladding applications.

Cembrit offers a range of accessories that complement the product. These combine to ensure a simple, easy installation, as well as a pleasing, long-lasting end result.

Using skills built up over 80 years, Cembrit offers a wide range of cladding panels, corrugated sheet and natural and man-made roofing slate. Quality levels at group factories are rigorously maintained to high standards with many products manufactured under the control of ISO 9001 and British Board of Agrément. Cembrit UK is a member of Cembrit Holding A/S (formerly the Dansk Eternit Holding A/S) of Denmark, one of Europe’s major building material producers of fibre reinforced cement products for the roofing and cladding industry. The ultimate parent company FL Smith this year celebrates its 125 year anniversary
