PC World, Currys, Stratford City Shopping Centre

Architect: Dixons
Contractor: Bridgford Interiors
Client: Dixons

The Stratford City shopping centre has opened and is a major part of the 2012 Olympic development in London. It is one of largest shopping centres in Europe and the use of a low voltage controlled semi-automatic operable wall for the frontage of a store is a completely new concept. PC World, Currys is at the cutting edge of contemporary design with their Muliwal 100U Multi Electric Sliding folding wall.

The wall is finished in a timber laminate exterior which was sourced from the supplier for other shop fittings on the project then incorporated into the Multiwal factory manufacturing process. The interior is faced with white melamine. The whole wall parks in a space adjacent to the entrance and is stored behind a matching timber door when not in use. Multiwal worked closely with the client to achieve this new way of facilitating a very large shop front opening with total security and beautiful finish when closed at night.
