Type of works: supply and installation of Wallbarn MegaPad paving support pads.

This development had an asphalt roof, where an inverted waterproofing system was being laid onto a complicated balcony area.

Insulation was installed, and MegaPads were chosen because of the constant changes in level across the area.

Steps and services meant that a large range of different height supports were required. This was no problem as MegaPads have a range from 35 up to 620mm, so identical spacings, weight tolerances and interface with the paving slabs can be achieved.

The slabs were well-supported, with each MegaPad able to tolerate 400kg, and no risk of the insulation being compressed or damaged in any way. Level paving was achieved throughout the balcony area.

Door thresholds and awkward details were supported easily and properly, as the MegaPads can be turned upside down, and the lugs secured to the (old) base plate to ensure that the paving slabs were supported right up the edges. This means that there was no risk of the slabs tilting, and tidy, clean finishes to the edges were achieved

An attractive, tidy finish was achieved in a very fast turn around. The client was extremely satisfied with the end result.
