Pineapple furniture featured on Channel 4

Several Pineapple products have played a leading role on a Channel 4 documentary.

The documentary, Life on a Psych Ward, brought to light the challenges in Forensic Psychiatry. Focusing on Bethlem Royal Hospital in south London - an important client of Pineapple’s - the documentary uncovered one of the most dangerous parts of the NHS. The aim of the centre is to help individuals one day reach a level where they can be safely discharged. During the course of the documentary, several Pineapple products featured.

Ryno, the winner of Building Better Healthcare Best Interior Product 2016, has been used to furnish the dining areas. The chair, which can be weighted to 75kg to prevent throwing and with no stashing points, is the ideal choice for communal areas where stress levels can become elevated.

Bethlem Royal Hospital provided invaluable feedback for the design process of the Ryno chair – including testing various prototype versions throughout its development. This is a critical element to product design at Pineapple, in order retain a constant focus on the customer and their satisfaction.

Waiting areas featured the Oskar Plus, a reinforced arm chair with solid sides, and an Akessen comfy chair which has plywood reinforcement cleverly designed throughout the seat, back, sides and arms.

Pineapple worked closely with Bethlem Royal Hospital to help them achieve their goal of creating an environment that support’s the individuals in their treatment.
