Play Equipment: Elemental
Setter have returned to their origins of hand crafted timber based play units to provide an alternative to the manmade components such as aluminium, HDPE and steel that feature in other units in their range. The development of the Elemental range recognises the need for substantial climbing and multi-play units at prices that don’t cost the earth. Setter’s timber is FSC certified meaning it is sustainable coming as it does from managed forests. The new designs feature timber making up to 90% of the component constituent. Timber is inherently cheaper than HDPE or steel and so Setter have created a brand new range, as well as designing timber based alternatives to their existing range such as Jellywood rather than Jellystone and Lumberjack instead of Crackerjack. Naturally all Setter’s timber units comply fully with EN1176.
Play Equipment Abstract
Setter Play recognise the limitations that some conventional play units can have; traditional play units may look like a grown up’s idea of playground equipment featuring a tower with a roof but sometimes designs like these can be limiting to the imagination. A tower with a roof is invariably ‘a house’. They have therefore come up with a range of play units that do not prescribe how to play. The units are designed to develop free form use. Play is not dictated by the need to go up steps, over a platform and down a slide for example. Instead children are challenged to explore the three dimensional space that the unit occupies. Setter’s abstract units can be explored around the outside, up the inside, over the top and through the middle. There is no right or wrong way to play.
Play Equipment Fundamental
Fundamental is Setter’s tried and tested range of play equipment featuring favourite designs and activities produced from tough durable components. Many of the designs within the range have been produced for over ten years with many units still going strong today and needing only minor TLC such as jet washing to rejuvenate them for continued use. The Fundamental range has been influenced by education practitioners and children alike with packed play value on every unit from Zoiks with its compact dimensions yet engaging challenges for the very young to Crackerjack sprawling out over four towers with challenges for all ages.
