Client: Plymouth University
Type of works: design, supply and installation of Maple solar shading products.

Plymouth University commissioned Maple Suncreening to help with a project which was directly unique, as Maple were the only solar shading company to provide the exact design to suit the architects desires and shading analysis. The shading was designed over a 6 month period and installed within 3 weeks to the satisfaction of the main contractor.

Shading solutions control solar-heat gain, which can significantly reduce a building’s energy costs by limiting, or even eliminating, the need for air conditioning. The use of optimum daylight not only contributes to energy savings but also provides a better working environment. The health and safety of employees working on computer screens is addressed by reducing glare. Maple systems were used in this instance to provide privacy and aesthetic design solutions, as well as fulfilling functional shading needs.

Maple also have all the relevant manufacturing expertise to provide bespoke jigs producing an exact design to suit the architects and fulfil the shading recommendations specified.
