Polyflor launches acoustic vinyl product

12 Sep 2011

Polyflor has strengthened its acoustic vinyl offering by launching new Acoustix Gallery fx PUR and Acoustix Forest fx PUR designed to tackle noise transfer.

By delivering an impact sound reduction of 19dB - comfortably exceeding the 17dB outlined in the UK Building Regulations - and offering a fresh choice of authentic, decorative wood and micro-granite designs, Polyflor’s new Acoustix ranges are well placed to meet the needs of the modern construction industry.

“These new Polyflor Acoustix ranges replace our successful Gallery FX Acoustic and Forest FX Acoustic ranges and offer some fantastic new designs,” explains Simon James, Polyflor’s marketing manager.

“Acoustics are an integral part of the building specification and these improved ranges deliver the necessary performance and enhanced aesthetic benefits to meet, and exceed, project requirements.”

Mercury and Vermont Maple are amongst the 12 new designs featured in the Acoustix Gallery fx collection of 14 wood and micro-granite effects. With a 0.5mm wearlayer and R10 slip rating, the range is specifically aimed at residential markets such as aged-care, social housing and student accommodation but is also suitable for heavily trafficked areas in schools, hospitals and offices.

Comprising eight highly popular wood effects, four of which are from Polyflor’s new look Forest fx range, Acoustix Forest fx offers a 0.65mm wearlayer and has been developed for use in very heavy commercial areas including schools, universities, hospitals, retails areas and other heavy footfall public buildings.

Both ranges have been certified A+ by BRE Global for major use areas (ENP 415) based on a life cycle analysis approach over a building life of 60 years. The products are also 100% recyclable and suitable for recycling through the Recofloor Vinyl Take-Back Scheme*.

Polyflor PUR, a super strength polyurethane reinforcement that is cross linked and UV cured, features on both collections and facilitates an improved polish-free, less labour intensive and more cost efficient maintenance regime.
