In hazardous area applications, the temperature class of the light fitting is a key factor in designing a safe system. The higher the ‘T’ rating, the cooler the surface temperature of the light fitting, which means that it is able to withstand higher ambient temperature applications.

Manufacturers of portable gas turbine generators sets use Petrel well glasses inside their units where transient temperature peaks can reach 100°C.

Specifically developed for such applications, the 620 well glass and 621 bulkhead fittings can be fitted with a range of light sources to cope safely with the unusually high temperatures.

Tested and assessed for use in explosive environments they are covered by ATEX and IEC Ex certification to the latest standard.
