Portsmouth based door manufacturer, Ahmarra has linked up with local youth charity, Motiv8 as one of its chosen charities.
Through the combined efforts of staff together with donations from the company Ahmarra will be helping support the work that Motiv8 does with vulnerable young people in the South East Hampshire area.
"It's really great to be helping Motiv8 who work hard to help young people in the area", advised Vicki Boulton, Marketing Manager for Ahmarra, "it was important for us to choose a local charity that worked in the community".
The first donation of £250 was presented by Ahmarra staff following an internal football match, which Motiv8 refereed. Steve Nash, Business Development Manager, Motiv8 commented, "This is a very welcomed donation and will go towards supporting young people who are finding it difficult to progress into the workplace."
Motiv8 are about to open their own social enterprise to create opportunities for employment for young people. This enterprise is a Community Cycle Centre called, Bicycle Recycling, will offer industry standard training in cycle maintenance and service and Ahmarra will play a key role in helping get the workshop premises ready for training.
Motiv8 has reached the final of a Lloyds Bank initiative to secure funding of £5,000 that will go towards this Community Cycle Centre, that will bring back to life an empty retail premises.
