Poundfield Products Develops a 4.5m Pre-Stressed Interlocking L-Bloc for the Port of Ipswich

The Port of Ipswich, part of Associated British Ports (ABP) had a requirement for 4.5m high retaining walls for the bulk storage of grain.

Previously a number of ABP ports including Ipswich had successfully used Poundfield Products exclusive Alfabloc retaining wall system together with their 2.95m and 3.65m high pre-stressed interlocking L-blocs.

ABP Ipswich recognised that their requirement was relatively unique and approached Poundfield for a solution because of their new product development facilities. Within a very short period of time Poundfield had developed a fully functional prototype which then went into full production.

The 4.5m x 1m pre-stressed interlocking L-blocs have now been installed and are a very successful part of the ABP Ipswich grain storage facility.
