Holiday makers in North Yorkshire are admiring the £7m refurbishment of Primrose Valley Holiday Park, thanks to Marley Eternit.

The company’s fibre-cement Cedral Weatherboard was used as an over-clad solution for several well-known convenience stores and retail outlets on the park.

Cedral Weatherboard was specified because it combines low maintenance and visual appeal with excellent environmental credentials. It can achieve an A+ rating as defined in the BRE’s Green Guide to Specification*.

As a lightweight over-clad solution, it provided a cost-effective and fast-track method of transforming the tired looking concrete-clad buildings on Primrose Valley Holiday Park, which now look just like new.

The fibre-cement Cedral Weatherboard, with its natural timber appearance, was installed in a shiplap configuration and fixed to timber battens mounted on the existing buildings. The owners had taken the decision not to use timber weatherboarding as they knew that the fibre-cement Cedral Weatherboard would maintain its looks without ongoing maintenance which was an important consideration.

The fact it retains its looks helps us portray the right image with holiday makers and many of our regular customers have already commented how much better it makes the retail centre look.”

The Cedral Weatherboard used at Primrose Valley was selected in colours that complemented the branding used on the retail outlets. For example, in the case of Spar, Cream White was specified to accentuate the company’s colour scheme.

Cedral Weatherboard is available in a range of 22 colours and four woodstains.
