Porous concrete promenade tiles from Spartan Promenade Tiles Ltd provide a surface and finish for flat roofs, paths, terraces and balconies. Spartan tiles are available in a range of thicknesses and shapes including plain, embossed, square and hexagonal. The tiles are easy to install, providing a highly durable surface on a wide range of applications. Standard colours include ivory, old gold, grey and terracotta and special colours can be made to order.
Spartan tiles are generally laid as promenade tiles on asphalt and built-up roofs, bonded with hot bitumen or, on upside-down roofing systems, are loose laid. They are also used as paving on a sand and cement base.
Tiles are available in a variety of different colours, shapes and weights for use as water permeable paving for pedestrian areas. Manufactured from Portland Cement, aggregate and colour pigments and formed on vibration presses Spartan tiles are left to cure naturally.
All tiles are chamfered on all top edges giving the appearance of a V joint when the tiles are laid. A minimal gap of 3mm, unpainted between tiles is recommended when laying to assist drainage of surface water.
Spartan offers a range of accessories including:
Ribbed tiles for change of lever for top and bottom of staircases
Aggregate finished tiles with deterrent areas
GRP gratings for outlet covers and channels
Various adhesives available for different types of roofing membranes
Fully trained technical staff are on hand to advise on all aspects of tile selection, specification and laying both over the telephone and on-site. Spartan tiles are available on a supply only or a supply and lay basis using their own fully trained operatives.
