The Ramada Hotel in Salford Quays is part of the world’s largest lodging franchiser. With nearly 900 hotels in more than 25 countries, Ramada Worldwide is a global presence that provides familiar haven for travellers. Positioned to appeal to mid-market leisure and business travellers, Ramada hotels offer guests a harmonious blend of comfort and affordability.

The client brief dictated that the awnings had to be centrally located to ensure a unison appearance on the drum shaped reception, which forms the focal point of the building. This involved complex calculations and close liaison with the design team and site electrician as long as six months prior to the install date.

All six awnings are motorised and are programmed to operate at exactly the same time. In addition, a wind sensor was incorporated to ensure the awnings fully retract on a windy day.
