Client: Castleoak
Architect: PRC Group
Type of works: supply of over 5,000m2 of Vincent Timber’s Cape Cod timber cladding.

Clad in over 5,000m2 of Vincent Timber’s Cape Cod wood cladding, a stunning £15 million luxury retirement village built by specialist care sector construction group, Castleoak, is proudly displaying the authentic New England look it was hoping for.

Richmond Village’s Grange Park offers independent living for older people that not only functions, but also looks welcoming and hospitable. Castleoak wanted a finish that offered warmth and prestige to the development.

Following extensive research by its Procurement Team at Castleoak, Vincent Timber’s Cape Cod Wood Cladding was selected, and did not disappoint.

Continuing the Cape Cod success story, 5,200m2 of the 150mm rebated bevel profile wood, in Chesapeake Blue and Cape Cod Grey, was used to clad the 51 one and two bedroom apartments. Two years in the making, the village was completed in June this year. Vincent Timber supplied the associated colour matched internal and external corner trims as part of the system, together with colour matched nails and touch-up paint.

Commenting on Castleoak’s first experience of Cape Cod, Project Director, John Turner, said “We were delighted with the Cape Cod product, and also with the service from Vincent Timber. The cladding was very straightforward to install and looks great.”

With a finish that comes with a 15 year coating warranty, the low maintenance timber cladding delivers owners a prestigious look that they will enjoy in the future just as much as they can now. Custom colours are available, in addition to the 10 standard colours, across all the profiles in the Cape Cod range. The product is ideal for both residential and commercial customers looking to achieve their own corporate or individual look.

In keeping with the development’s schedule, all materials were supplied on time. This came as part of the company’s firm understanding of the strict timeframes that sub-contractors, such as specialist installers, have to work to.
